Willow Room Community Acupuncture Book a first visit

Willow Room · Asheville, North Carolina

Community acupuncture on a sliding scale.

A shared room in Asheville: several recliners, one practitioner, and quiet hour-long sessions you can afford to repeat.

Group treatment

Everyone lies down at once. That is the treatment.

One acupuncturist, a row of recliners, and a quiet hour where nobody is the only person in the room. Needles go in the arms, legs, hands and ears. Then the lamps go low and you rest, with a blanket within reach.

  1. 01

    Book a first visit

Pick a time and tell us it’s your first visit, so we know to expect you and where to put you.

  2. 02

    Settle into a recliner

Shoes off, coat on a hook, chair tipped back. Chairs rather than tables — that’s the whole arrangement.

  3. 03

    Needles, then quiet

A short check-in, fine needles, and then a long warm rest while the room goes still around you.

  4. 04

Pay what you can, on the scale

You choose where you land in the sliding-scale range when you check out. It takes a minute.

The sliding scale

Two people can lie in the same room, get the same treatment, and pay different amounts. That’s the point, not a loophole — it’s how a community room stays a community room.

You decide where you fall on the scale when you pay. Ask at the desk if you’d like help choosing a spot, or book a first visit and decide at the end of it.

What people come in for.

Most people come for more than one thing, and the room doesn’t mind a bit. Sit in any recliner and you’ll be treated alongside someone here for something else entirely.

Chronic pain

Backs, necks, shoulders, joints.

Pain that has been around a while, and old injuries that never quite settled. It is the bulk of what happens in the room, most days.

Sleep & stress

Trouble dropping off.

A mind that won’t turn off, and a kind of tired that a night’s sleep doesn’t shift.

Fertility & prenatal

Alongside the rest of it.

Support through fertility treatment and through pregnancy, in a room where you are not the only one going through it.

Injury recovery

Steady, repeated sessions.

Sprains, surgeries, and stubborn spots that heal better with regular visits than one big push.

Monthly membership

A standing place in the room.

For the kind of person who wants the room to be part of the ordinary week, the same hour, whatever the week is doing.

First visit

Start with one session.

Come once, see how the shared room feels, and decide about a membership later. No obligation either way.

Monthly membership

Join the room, month by month.

Some people come for a stretch and then stop, and that’s exactly right. Membership is for the other kind of person: the one who wants the room to be part of the ordinary week, the same hour, whatever the week is doing.

A month at Willow Room

  1. For pain that needs regularity

Chronic pain rarely answers to one appointment. A membership keeps the visits coming instead of waiting for a flare.

  2. For sleep and stress

A standing hour in a dim room, once a week or once a fortnight, doing more than it sounds like it should.

  3. For before and during pregnancy

Steady support alongside everything else already in the diary, month after month.

  4. For an injury that’s healing

A run of visits close together, then a quieter stretch once the joint or the muscle starts to settle.

The room

Soft light, low lamps, a stack of blankets by the door.

Willow Room is a community acupuncture room in Asheville, North Carolina. It is deliberately plain and deliberately shared: several recliners, one practitioner, and a sliding scale so that treatment can be a regular thing rather than a last resort.

Come in for chronic pain, for sleep and stress, for fertility and prenatal support, or while an injury settles. Many squares, one blanket. That’s the whole idea.
