The daily order

What happens here, and when.

Nothing at the lodge runs on a clock the dogs can read. It runs on light — early, bright, low, gone. The services fall into those hours.

Dawn before the fog lifts

Individual play sessions

One dog at a time in the side yard while the rest of the lodge is still waking. No group, no rush — the morning belongs to whoever is out in it.

Mid-morning the long shadows

Day boarding

Dropped off after breakfast, picked up before supper. The same suite, the same hours, no overnight — useful for a long day in town.

Afternoon out along the tree line

Nature trail walks

Leashed and in small groups, at a walking pace, in the low light that comes in through the timber. Long shadows on the trail, and back before dark.

Dusk before you pull in

Bath before pickup

Warm water and a towel at the end of the stay, timed so your dog is dry before the drive home. They leave clean and settled.

Suites, walks, play sessions and the bath are all arranged when you send your dates.

Overnight boarding · climate-controlled suites

A room of their own, and the temperature held steady.

Overnight boarding happens in suites — separate rooms, temperature held where it should be through a Flathead summer and a Montana winter. Each dog keeps their own routine, and the building goes quiet early.

  1. 01

    Climate-controlled suites

Cooled through the warm months, warmed through the cold ones. The suite holds its temperature while the dog sleeps in it.

  2. 02

    Overnight boarding

In after the last walk of the day, out again at first light. Each dog has their own suite for the night.

  3. 03

    Day boarding

Dropped off after breakfast, picked up before supper. The same suite and the same hours, without the overnight.

Warm water at the end of the stay, worked in around the last walk so your dog is dry and settled by the time you arrive. Ask for it when you reserve.

Nature trail walks

Out in the afternoon light, back before dark.

The walks leave the building in the afternoon, when the light comes in low through the timber and the ground is at its best underfoot. Leashed, in small groups, at a walking pace.

Leashed, in small groups

Every dog walks on a lead with a small group, so nobody gets crowded on the trail.

At a walking pace

Out and back before the light goes, at the speed the slowest dog in the group wants to keep.

Guests and day dogs

Dogs staying overnight go out on the trail as part of the day; dogs here for day boarding join the same afternoon walk.
