Tidewick Oyster Room Reserve

Charleston, SC — Oyster Bar

Every shell
opens on cue.

Tuesday Oyster Hour at the rail. Raw oyster flights, peel-and-eat shrimp and champagne poured as the shells open — close enough to hear the knife.

The Rail

The best seat in the house is the rail.

A long bar, a brass rail, a shucker working in a pool of red light. Everything that happens here happens in front of you — the ice, the knife, the pour. We built the room around that sightline.

Shucking is a performance, and the rail is the front row.

Order a flight and it arrives in sequence — one shell at a time, set down the moment it opens. Nothing sits under a lamp. The knife moves, the ice shifts, and the next oyster lands in front of you still cold from the sea.

Peel-and-eat shrimp come out alongside, shells on, drawn butter at your elbow. Champagne follows the shell rather than the other way round. It is dinner and it is a show, and here the two are the same thing.

The Main Act — Tuesdays

Tuesday Oyster Hour.

One night a week the whole room runs on the shuck. The ice is rebuilt, the flights go out as fast as they open, and the champagne is chosen to follow the shell in front of you. Take a seat at the rail and the hour comes to you.
