Everyone starts as a tadpole.

Four rungs, from a baby's first splash in your arms to a child swimming on their own. Find your child's rung and book the time that fits, online in about a minute.

The Pond Ladder

Start at the bottom rung. It's the best one.

Every swimmer at Tadpole Tide climbs the same four rungs. Find the one that sounds like your child and book it. Not sure? Start one rung down. The rungs above will still be there next block.

Baby & Me

You're in the water together the whole time. We sing, we float, we meet water on the face and a first kick that actually goes somewhere. You don't need to be a swimmer. Bring a towel, a spare hand, and a child who doesn't mind getting splashed.

Level 1 · Starfish

Your child steps in without you. Six weeks of building the first float, the first big breath and the slide into the water, at whatever pace your swimmer sets. Same group, same day, every week.

Rung 03 5–7 years

Level 2 · Seahorse

Arms and legs start working together. Seahorses work on swimming a short distance on their own, rolling onto their back for a breath when they need one, and climbing out safely at the side. This is the rung where swimming starts to look like swimming.

One child, one instructor, half an hour shaped around whatever your swimmer needs next. A wobble in confidence, a stubborn kick, or a gentle first step before joining a group. Tell us what you're working on when you book and we'll build the lesson around it.

First time with us? Say so when you book. Baby & Me runs as a drop-in, so it works as a trial, and we'll put you in the class you're eyeing for anything else.

How it works

Booking takes about a minute.

Here's the whole thing, start to splash. No account to make, nothing to print, nothing to remember except the towel.

01

Find your rung

Match your child's age and where they are in the water. If you're between two rungs, take the lower one. A confident child moves up quickly, and a worried one doesn't have to catch up.

02

Book the time online

Pick your slot from the schedule and it's held for you. We'll confirm the first-day details: what to bring, when to arrive, and which door to come in.

03

Bring a towel and a smile

Suits, a towel, and a grown-up to watch. Goggles and caps are welcome but never required. Come a few minutes early on your first visit and we'll show you where to leave your things.

04

Climb to the next rung

When your child is ready, we'll tell you which rung comes next and when it runs. You don't have to guess, and you don't have to ask.

Where we teach

We're in Warwick, and you're probably close.

Tadpole Tide runs out of Warwick, Rhode Island, and families come to us from right across Kent and Providence counties. If the drive to your lesson is part of the weekly routine, we've kept it short on purpose. A swim lesson works best when it doesn't eat the whole afternoon.
