Barn cat program

She’ll work the barn. She won’t sit in your lap.

Barn cats are working cats. They want a barn, a stable, a shop, or a yard with a feed room — and they want to be left to the job. We place them around Tucson.

Placement starts with a conversation about your property.

The program

What a barn cat placement actually looks like.

Barn cats are not broken cats. They are cats that would rather work than be handled. Here is the whole arrangement, start to finish.

01

The cat

Some cats come to us with no interest in being picked up. They are not mean and they are not unhappy. They want a job and a place to do it.

02

The place

A barn, a stable, a shop, a yard with a feed room. Somewhere with shelter, a routine, and a reason to keep the edges clear.

03

The arrangement

We match the cat to your property. You give it shelter and a routine. It works the place and keeps to itself — you will see it at feeding time and again at dusk.

What else we do

Not every animal here wants a barn.

Barn cat placement is the loudest part of our work, not the only part. Foster homes, clinics, adoption events, and dog-walking shifts keep everything else moving.

A spare room buys an animal time

Foster homes are where our animals live while they wait for the right place. If you have a room and a few weeks to give, we match you with an animal that fits it. You do not need experience. You need a door that closes.

Spay and neuter clinics

Fewer litters, fewer barns needed

Our spay and neuter clinics cut the problem off at the source. Every litter that does not happen is one less cat looking for a barn, a foster room, or a couch.

Adoption events

Meet them in person

We set up around Tucson with animals who are ready to go home. Come ask questions, stand in the sun, and let the animal decide. It beats a photo every time.

Ways to get involved
Volunteer dog-walking shifts

Show up. Walk a dog. Go home.

Shifts are exactly that simple. The dogs in our care need out, and the walk is the whole job. Book an hour and bring nothing but a leash hand.

Monthly medical fund

The vet bill shows up every month. So can you.

Medical fund donations pay for the care our animals need — the routine work and the things that turn up out of nowhere. A monthly gift is what keeps the fund steady instead of scrambling for it.

One-time gifts to the same fund are welcome too.

Adoptions and steady gifts are what keep the work going. Pick whichever one fits this week.

Request a barn cat

Tell us about your barn, stable, shop, or yard, and we will match a working cat to the space.

How placement works

Foster or walk a dog

Take an animal in for a few weeks, or book a dog-walking shift. Both start with a conversation.
