Mesa, Arizona — desert landscape design & care

Make the backyard the room you never want to leave.

Most yards out here are a floor waiting to happen. We set the pavers, lay the turf, plant for shade and run the drip lines underneath — then keep the whole thing ready, month after month.

  • Desert landscape design
  • Paver patios
  • Artificial turf
  • Drip irrigation
  • Tree trimming
  • Monthly maintenance

The five layers

Every yard we build goes down in the same five layers.

Floor, lawn, shade, water, care. Get the order right and the yard stops being weather and starts being a room — one you can walk out into barefoot at seven in the evening.

  1. 01

    Floor — paver patios

Set the footprint first. Sand-set pavers in a running bond, sized to your table, your grill and the walk out from the back door.

    Plan a patio
  2. 02

    Lawn — artificial turf

A green rectangle that never needs mowing, reseeding or a lawn's worth of irrigation. A rug you can lay down and forget about.

    See turf
  3. 03

    Shade — trees & trimming

Shaping and pruning so the canopy falls where you sit, not where you walk — and so the patio stays usable through the long hot months.

    Book a trim
  4. 04

    Water — drip irrigation

The plumbing of the room: lines run below the surface and along the roots, watering plant by plant instead of soaking the whole floor.

    Map the lines
  5. 05

    Care — monthly maintenance

Someone keeps the room ready: trimmed, swept, checked and brushed, so it's always usable and never a project.

A patio is just concrete until it becomes the room where everyone lingers.

We plan the layers in order, so the floor never gets dug up for the plumbing and the shade never lands on the wrong side of the table.

Layers two and four — lawn & water

Green you don't have to mow. Water that goes only to the roots.

Two layers do the quiet work out here: turf that reads as lawn, and drip lines that feed each plant instead of soaking the whole yard.

Artificial turf

We cut and fit the turf around your pavers, grade the base so it drains after monsoon rain, and finish the edges so it reads as a rug rather than a patch.

  • Edges fitted tight against pavers and gravel
  • Base graded to drain after monsoon rain
  • Brushed and checked on every maintenance visit

Drip irrigation

Drip lines run under the gravel and along the roots, so the water reaches the plant that needs it. You set the schedule; we clear the emitters on every visit.

  • An emitter at each root zone
  • Lines buried under gravel and mulch
  • Emitters checked and cleared on maintenance days
Layer three — shade

Shade decides where the room actually gets used.

A canopy two feet too low and the patio is unusable all summer. We prune and shape what you already have so the cover lands over the seating, not the walkway — and plan for the shade you'll want a few years from now.

  1. 01
Walk the yard and mark the canopy lines We look at where you sit, where the sun lands at four in the afternoon, and what each tree is actually doing.
  2. 02
Prune and shape, clearing deadwood Lifting, thinning and shaping so the tree keeps its form and the shade falls where the room needs it.
  3. 03
Haul it all away and sweep the floor You come home to a raked yard and a swept patio — no pile at the curb, no branch on the turf.

Layer five — care

The last layer is the one that keeps it a room.

Desert yards don't stay finished on their own. Monthly visits cover the trimming, sweeping, drip checks and turf care that keep the yard ready to walk out into — instead of a list of jobs waiting for a free weekend.

We plan the whole room in one drawing, then build it layer by layer — floor first, with the plumbing hidden before the gravel goes down.
