Outage sequence

What happens when the grid drops.

A standby system is not a switch you run out and flip. It reads the line, starts on its own and moves the house over — the same way every time, at two in the afternoon or two in the morning.

  1. 01

    The grid drops

The line goes quiet. Heat or air, the well pump, freezers and lights all stop at once, and the house goes dark.

  2. 02

    The switch reads it

The transfer switch watches the incoming service and picks up the outage the moment voltage falls away.

  3. 03

    The unit cranks

The standby generator starts and comes to speed, and the switch moves the house off the utility line and onto its own power.

  4. 04

    The house runs

Lights, refrigeration and heat or air come back on, and stay on until utility power returns to the pole.

Not sure whether your panel can carry a whole-home unit? Describe the house and we will talk it through.
