01 — The path

From the mountains to your skin.

Nothing arrives in a finished bottle. Botanicals are grown, gathered, steeped and blended within a short drive of the bench — and every stage is recorded, so the jar in your hand can be traced back to the field it started in.

  1. 01

    Source

Herbs, clays and pressed oils are gathered from growers and small farms across Western North Carolina and the Southern Appalachians.

  2. 02

    Steep

Botanicals steep slowly in carrier oils until the character of the plant is fully drawn out — no shortcuts, no filler.

  3. 03

    Blend

Formulas are weighed and blended by hand in small batches, with each batch logged as it is made.

  4. 04

    Bottle & mark

Poured into glass, dated, and labelled with the batch it came from — the same record you can ask to see.

02 — Small batch

Three ways to read a label.

Each formula carries its own map: what is inside it, where it came from and what it does when it reaches your skin.

03 — Index

The ingredient index.

Every ingredient we work with, where it comes from and what it does in a formula. This is the whole list — if it is not here, it is not in the bottle.

Sage

Blue Ridge foothills, NC

An astringent garden botanical, steeped into carrier oils for serums and salves.

White clay

Southern Appalachians

A fine mineral clay that draws out oil and lifts dullness — the base of every mask.

Rosehip

Small farms, Western NC

A pressed seed oil used where skin needs softening and repair.

Calendula

Garden-grown, Asheville

Petals infused into oil for the salves — a traditional botanical for rough, cracked skin.

Lavender

Blue Ridge foothills, NC

Steam-distilled into essential oil blends, and ground into the clay masks for scent.

Oat

Western North Carolina

Finely milled and used as a soft, soothing carrier in masks and cleansing blends.

04 — Refills

Bring the bottle back.

Our containers are meant to make the round trip. Serums, salves and blends all leave the bench in glass that can be returned, weighed, filled and sent out again.

  • Return the glass

Dropper bottles, salve tins and blend bottles all come back to the bench to be cleaned and reused.

  • Same record, new fill

A refill is weighed, filled and re-dated against its original batch, so the map stays intact.

  • Ask about the refill list

Tell us which formulas you use most and we will keep refills ready alongside the current batch.
