Resident-run co-op · Tulsa, Oklahoma

Meetings, repairs, potlucks — all pinned here.

Riverbend is a manufactured home community that runs on its own members. Membership is how the co-op keeps the repair fund stocked, the upgrades moving and the coffee on in the community room.

Co-op governance

Every member gets a vote.

Board seats, budgets and upgrades get talked through in the open at member meetings — then written up and pinned back here for anyone who missed it.

Emergency repair fund

A little set aside goes a long way.

Members pay in what they can. The committee can then act on a burst line or a busted step long before it becomes somebody's whole month.

01 / Resident membership

A neighbourhood that runs on its own people.

Membership is the engine. It's how a street of homes becomes a co-op that owns its own decisions — the repairs, the upgrades, the meetings and the potlucks.

Members pay in, vote on what matters, and get the notice board's worth of information in return. The people who decide things live on the same street as the people who live with the decision.

What membership covers

One household, one voice.

  1. A seat at the table. Members vote on budgets, upgrades and board seats.
  2. A stake in the fund. The emergency repair fund is member money, spent in the open.
  3. A say in the plan. Upgrades get pitched, costed and voted on before anyone digs.
  4. A place on the list. The notice board, the committees and the potluck rota.

02 / Community upgrades

What we fix, we fix together.

Upgrades at Riverbend don't arrive from an office somewhere else. They start as a note on this board, get costed by a committee, and land in front of the members for a vote.

Community upgrades

Upgrades start as a note on this board.

Somebody writes it down, a committee gathers quotes and checks what the fund can carry, and the members decide. Nothing gets dug up before it's been talked through.

  • Steps, ramps & railings
  • Water & sewer lines
  • Street lighting
  • Shade trees & garden beds

Emergency repair fund

For the week something lets go.

The repair fund is a small, steady pot that members pay into. It's what lets a committee say yes to a plumber on a Tuesday, then bring the receipt and the story to the next meeting.

Give once, or set something aside each month. Either way it sits in the fund until a neighbour needs it.

03 / Co-op governance

How a note becomes a decision.

Anyone in the community can start something. The route from a scribbled note to a finished job is short, written down, and the same for everybody.

  1. 01

A member writes the note and posts it on the board, or brings it up at a member meeting.

  2. 02

    The committee looks

The right committee pulls the note, gathers quotes and checks what the repair fund can carry.

  3. 03

    Members vote

It goes on the agenda, gets discussed in the open, and members vote on it — one household, one vote.

  4. 04

    Pinned back

The decision, the cost and the next step go back up on the board where everyone can see them.

Home site leases

A written spot, held for your household.

A home site lease is the agreement that holds your place at Riverbend — your site, your terms, in writing. The co-op that signs it is the same co-op that answers when something on that site needs fixing.

Ask the board about leasing a site, or about bringing a home onto one.

05 / Join in

Tear one off. That's how it starts.

Membership, committee sign-ups and gifts to the repair fund all begin with a strip of paper and somebody's name on it. Take one — or put your name in the form and we'll pin it to the right board.

Nothing here is a commitment. It just gets your note onto the right committee's pile.
