How it works

Four markers from here to test day.

No queues and no confusing paperwork. Tell us about the driver, we mark the route, and then you drive it one lesson at a time.

A few details about the driver, the town you're in and what you need. That's the whole first step.

We mark the route

We come back with a quote and a package that fits: classroom plus behind-the-wheel, a block of lessons, or a single session.

Lessons behind the wheel

You drive, we coach. Each lesson builds on the one before it, on the streets around your part of the county.

Test day

By the time the test comes around the route feels familiar, because you've practiced it — turns, merges and all.

The school

A patient guide, not a back seat full of nerves.

Redwood Coast Driving School is a small, local school — the kind where the instructor remembers your name and where you left off last lesson.

New drivers get coaching, not a checklist. We start on quiet streets and build up to highway merges at a pace that feels right, and we'll tell you honestly when you're ready.

  • We start where you are, whether that's a first time behind the wheel or a test in a few weeks.
  • Practice happens on the roads you'll actually use around Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville and Fortuna.
  • Parents are welcome to ask questions and hear what we're working on between lessons.
