Cattle herd health
Herd checks and the individual pulls that come with them, worked in your chute or your alley rather than a trailer.
Cattle herd health, livestock vaccinations, pregnancy checks, equine dentistry and nutrition planning — plus emergency farm calls when something goes wrong. Large animal only, working out of Kearney.
Planned farm work
Tell us the species and the head count, and the visit is built around how you work stock — your chute, your alley, your barn aisle.
Herd checks and the individual pulls that come with them, worked in your chute or your alley rather than a trailer.
Vaccination work handled at the same visit as everything else, so the herd is only run through once.
Herd-wide pregnancy checking, one bunch at a time, with the results recorded as we work through them.
Dental exams and floating, with the horse sedated and settled in its own stall or barn aisle.
Ration and mineral questions answered against what is actually in the bunk, not against a general chart.
Right now · Emergency farm call
Call the line and tell us the species, how many head and what you are seeing. Nothing to fill in, no email to wait on.
Tell us the species, how many head and what you are seeing. Say it plainly — we will ask for the rest.
Nearest crossroads, which gate we want, and who is there to meet the truck when it pulls in.
Contained, calm and separated from the rest of the bunch until we get there. We will tell you what to do while we drive.
The practice
Prairie Wind is a large animal practice, which means the work happens where the animals live. Herd health, vaccinations and pregnancy checks run through the chute; equine dentistry happens in the barn aisle with the horse settled; nutrition planning starts with the feed in front of you.
Everything the visit needs comes on the truck. Your stock stays on their own feed and their own footing, and the day carries on around the visit instead of stopping for it.
Call the clinic
A booked herd visit or something wrong right now — it lands on the same line, and the same people answer it.
