Pack the red.

The kits

Three kits, packed for three kinds of ground.

Each box is put together for the place you are painting: wet stone at the bottom of the gorge, dry cliff in the sun, or the handrail between the two. Pick the ground, take the kit.

  1. Kit 01

    Watercolor kits

Loose, translucent color that runs with the water. Built for plunge pools, spray and the flat gray stone underneath them.

    For wet ground
  2. Kit 02

    Acrylic paint sets

Opaque and coverable, bold enough to hold a wet rock wall in full sun and patient enough to be worked over again before the light goes.

    For dry cliff
  3. Kit 03

    Brush sets

Rolled and travel-ready. Edges, corners and one clean line for the rim of the falls — the part of the descent your hand is doing.

    For the handrail

Online art workshops

Paint alongside us, from your own table.

Workshops run online, so a wet afternoon in Ithaca and a wet afternoon anywhere else can be the same afternoon. Bring the kit you packed and we take it from the top of the range down.

How a workshop runs

Step by step, brush in hand.

Watercolor, acrylic and brush work, taught in the order the trails run here — ground first, then water, then light.

  • 01 Join from wherever you are
  • 02 Watercolor and acrylic, brushes in hand
  • 03 Work at your own pace, ask as you go

In-person retreats

Retreats, up where the sky opens.

Higher ground, longer light and a group of painters working from the same palette. The mist drops below you and there is nothing overhead but sky.

Retreats take the whole thing outdoors — gorge, water, and hours of painting with no screen in the way.

The community

The water pools here. So do the painters.

Everyone who carries a kit down one of these trails ends up in the same place — flat ground, wet stone, paint drying in the sun. That is the community we are building, and you are already on the way down.
