Selected work

Three rooms,
start to finish

Each project is filed the same way: what stayed, what moved, and what we built by hand. Kitchens, baths and millwork, all remodeled in Providence houses that were not built square.

Project 01  ·  Kitchen remodel

A narrow galley that finally works along one wall

The footprint stayed; the storage did not. Cabinets now run to the ceiling, the cooktop moved off the window wall, and handmade tile carries the color so the room no longer needs a light on at noon.

Project 02  ·  Bathroom renovation

A small bath squared up, with the tile run to the ceiling

It read as a hallway with a sink. Squaring the shower gained usable floor, and repeating one warm metal across every fixture keeps a tight room from looking busy.

Trim matched to the house, not the catalog

In older Providence houses the trim is the character. We reproduce the profiles already in the room, repair what can be saved, and build cabinetry that reads as though it was always there.

Full kitchen remodels

Layout, cabinetry, counters, tile, lighting and finish delivered as a single project on a single schedule.

02

Showers, tile, vanities and storage built for the way a small Providence bath actually gets used every morning.

03

Custom cabinetry

Built to the room's real dimensions and the house's real age, rather than trimmed to fit a standard box.

Tile & stone work

Process  ·  How a remodel runs

Four steps from
first look to last light

A remodel moves in beats. Each one is settled before the next begins, so you always know what is happening in your house this week.

01

Consultation

We walk the rooms with you, talk through how you cook, wash and store, and look at what the space can realistically become.

02

Design & selections

Layout, cabinetry details, tile, stone, fixtures and finishes are drawn and chosen before anything is ordered or removed.

03

Build

Demolition, rough work, tile and stone, custom cabinetry and millwork — sequenced to keep the rest of the house livable.

04

Reveal

Final trim, paint, hardware and the punch list. Then the lights go on and the room is yours.

Warm light,
old bones,
careful work

Old Mill Kitchen & Bath works in Providence and the Rhode Island neighborhoods around it, in houses that have settled, shifted and been added to for a century or more.

That shapes how we build: doors sized to an opening that is not square, tile cut around a wall that has never been straight, and cabinetry designed for the room in front of us rather than a showroom floor.
