Local conditions

Why gutters matter here.

Weather arrives off the lake in every form it has. A gutter run is the one part of the roof that meets all of it — snow, meltwater, refreeze — and moves it somewhere harmless.

Condition 01

Snow load

Lake-effect snow is heavy and it slides. Gutters hung on properly fastened hangers take that weight along the eave instead of letting it peel the roof edge apart.

Condition 02

Ice damming

Meltwater running down the roof refreezes at the cold eave and backs up under the shingles. A correctly pitched run with clear downspouts gives that water somewhere to go.

Condition 03

Freeze–thaw and runoff

Duluth swings above and below freezing all spring. Sized right, a seamless run carries a whole roof's worth of meltwater past the foundation instead of into it.

Materials & sample pricing

Formed to fit your roofline.

Three materials, one job: move water off the roof and away from the foundation. We measure the eave line on site and form each run to the length your house actually needs.

Before the gutters go up

Fascia and soffit, repaired first.

A gutter can only hold as well as the wood behind it. If the fascia is soft or the soffit has rotted through, we replace it before the new run is formed — otherwise the first heavy snow takes the whole thing down.

  1. 01
    Inspect the eave line

We check the fascia, soffit and rafter tails along the full run during the free on-site estimate.

  2. 02
    Replace what's soft

Rotted sections come out and new fascia and soffit go in, so the hangers bite into solid wood.

  3. 03
    Form and hang the run

The seamless gutter is formed to your measured footage, pitched to drain and fastened along the eave.
