What support looks like, and what it costs.

Four ways to be looked after. Book them one at a time, or ask for a quote that combines what your family is actually facing.

  • Postpartum doula $40per hour In-home support through the weeks after birth — rest, recovery, feeding, and the ordinary rhythm of a household that has just changed shape. Days or nights, in blocks that suit you.
  • Lactation home visit $150per visit A full visit in your own home, at your kitchen table or on your sofa, working through a feed together and adjusting what needs adjusting.
  • Virtual lactation $75per session The same conversation over video, for families further out in the county or for a first, quieter look at what is going on.
  • Newborn care class $60per class A calm walk-through before the baby arrives — the first week, soothing, sleep, sharing nights, and the questions you would rather ask now.

Rates are listed per hour or per visit as noted. Your quote will confirm what fits your household, your town and your dates.

The first weeks

What the weeks after birth actually ask for.

Nothing here is a package. Take the pieces your household needs, in the order they are needed, and leave the rest for another family.

No. 01

The house sounds different at two in the morning.

A postpartum doula comes to you — nights, days, or the hours that are hardest to fill — and carries the practical weight for a stretch so you can sleep, eat and heal. Support is $40 an hour, booked in the blocks that suit your household rather than ours.

No. 02

Feeding is the part everyone has an opinion about.

What helps is somebody patient at your table, watching a whole feed with you and adjusting the small things — position, timing, the latch that has been stinging. A lactation visit happens in your home; video works when you are further out in the county.

No. 03

Nobody hands you a plan for your own body afterwards.

Rest, food, the first walk down the street, the stack of things that did not get done while you were in the chair feeding. A doula works through it alongside you without taking over the room — and quiet company is often the whole point.

No. 04

A newborn care class takes an evening, not a semester.

What is normal in the first week, how to soothe a baby who will not settle, how to share the nights between partners, and who to call at three in the morning. You arrive at the due date with your questions already asked.

Every entry above can go into a single quote request — compare the hours, the visit and the class together before you decide.
