How it works
No booking site in the middle. You send your dates, the innkeeper answers with the room, and the rest is a slow morning on the porch.
We keep the season in one book at the front desk — who is coming, which room, how many canoes are out. It is not complicated, and it means the person who answers your email is the person who pours your coffee.
Use the calendar on this page or pick up the phone. Two nights or five — we will tell you what is open that week, including the midweek nights when the lake is at its quietest.
The innkeeper replies with the room, the rate for your dates and what you need to confirm it. Nothing is automated, and nothing is passed to a call center.
Bags down, kettle on. The canoe is at the dock, the chairs are on the porch, and the loons call at dusk whether or not anyone is listening.
