Portland, Maine · Pediatric Dentistry
First visits and infant exams, sealants, fluoride, cavity treatment, mouthguards and special-needs pediatric care — in a room that never rushes a child.
Tell us what helps your child and we’ll plan the visit around it. Send a request and we reply with times — nothing is booked until you say yes.
A calm room, set up for small people — low light, low noise, and nothing that beeps.
What we do
Tap a pool to open it. Nothing jumps out at you — each one opens quietly and stays open while you read. Look at one, or look at all six.
A first visit can be a gentle place to begin. We start with a look around the room, a lap to sit on, and a slow count of teeth — when your child is ready for it.
Infant exams are just as unhurried, and a good moment to ask about feeding, brushing and what comes next.
Bring a comfort item if it helps. Siblings are welcome to come along.
Some children need a quieter room, a longer appointment, or the same person each time. Tell us what helps and we’ll plan the visit around your child, not the clock.
If a walk-through before the first appointment would make things easier, ask us and we’ll arrange one.
A thin protective coating brushed onto the back teeth to help keep out decay. It’s quick, and it doesn’t need any drilling.
We’ll tell you which teeth would benefit and why, before anything is placed.
A gentle varnish or gel applied to the teeth to help them stay strong. It takes a minute or two, and your child can go straight back to their day afterwards.
We’ll let you know what to avoid eating or drinking for the rest of the day, and you can always ask us to pause if your child needs a moment.
When a cavity does need treatment, we explain each step before we do it, in words your child can follow.
We agree on a signal your child can use if they want a pause, and we take it as slowly as they need.
Custom-fit guards for sport, and for children who grind their teeth at night. We take an impression so the fit protects the teeth properly and stays comfortable to wear.
If your child plays a contact sport, it’s worth asking about timing before the season starts.
Special-needs pediatric care
You know your child best. Tell us what to expect, what to avoid, and what makes a room feel safe, and we’ll build the appointment around that. Some families ask for the same things every time — that’s fine too.
Your first visit
There’s no form to fill in before you’re ready, and no pressure to decide anything on the phone. Here’s how a request usually goes.
A quieter room, extra time, a morning slot, or a look around the room before the visit. Anything you tell us changes how we plan the morning.
Send us the days and hours that work best for your family. Mornings often suit small children better, but you know your own child’s rhythm.
We come back to you by phone or email to confirm. If you want to slow things down, reschedule, or simply ask more questions first, that’s completely fine.
Request an appointment
Send a request and we’ll come back to you to confirm a time. Nothing is booked automatically, and you can ask us anything before you decide.
