What a cord costs

What the wood costs.

No quote-only mystery. These are the prices, by the cord, the face cord and the bundle — and stacking is a flat add-on if you would rather not lift it yourself.

$340 per cord

Mixed hardwood, fully seasoned

Split, stacked and left to sit until it is dry. This is the cord that fills the shed and carries you through the winter.

Fully seasoned
$210 and up

Kiln-dried oak face cord

Oak straight out of the kiln. Lights quick, burns hot, and there is no waiting around on it. Face cords start at $210.

Face cord
$930 delivered

Three-cord bulk

Three cords in one delivery, at $930 laid at your driveway. That works out to less per cord than buying them one at a time.

Delivered
$12 bundle

Kindling bundle

Small, dry splits for getting the fire going without a fight. Twelve dollars a bundle.

Add-on
$60 add-on

Stacking and shed-stacking

Rather not pile it yourself? We stack it on the porch, along the wall, or inside the shed — wherever it is going to live.

Add-on

Why it burns

Seasoned, not green.

Green wood hisses, smokes and sulks. That is a bad night, and you paid for it. Our wood gets split, stacked and left to dry before it ever reaches your driveway, so the first match does the job.

That is the whole business, really. How it was split and how long it sat is the difference between a warm house and a chimney full of creosote.
