Ironwood Tree Care Free estimate

Knoxville, Tennessee

The strongest wood grows slow. We respect the rings.

Ironwood Tree Care removes, trims and grinds trees across Knoxville — tree removal, trimming and pruning, stump grinding, crane-assisted removals, storm damage cleanup and plant health care. We read the tree before we cut it, then leave the ground clean and ready.

Storm damage goes to the front of the schedule — mark it urgent on the estimate form.

Ring by ring

Five rings, five services — from the inside out.

Health first, then shaping, then the takedown, then the final grind. Storm damage cleanup has its own order of work, and it gets the next section down.

Ring one sits closest to the pith. Ring five is the outermost — the last thing standing, and the first thing we grind.
Ring 01

Plant Health Care

Soil, water, structure, stress. We work out what is holding a tree back while it is still standing, and treat the problem where it grows.

Ring 02

Trimming & Pruning

Deadwood out, structure corrected, clearance opened over roofs and drives. Cuts placed where the tree can close over them on its own.

Ring 03

Tree Removal

Sectional takedowns in tight yards: rigged, roped and lowered in pieces, so nothing is dropped through a fence, a flower bed or a roofline.

Ring 04

Crane-Assisted Removals

When a tree is too big, too hollow or too far over the house for rigging alone, the crane takes it in single picks instead of dozens of pieces.

Ring 05

Stump Grinding

The last ring, ground out below grade. Grindings hauled or left on site, the hole raked, and the ground ready for grass or a new tree in the same spot.

Storm damage

When the rings are split, the order of work matters more than the speed.

Split trunks, hung limbs, trees leaning on the house. Storm cleanup is about safe access and controlled cuts first — then clearing the yard out.

  • Assessment before anything moves: what is split, what is hung up, and what is safe to work under.
  • Rigging and crane picks for trunks leaning over roofs, fences and driveways.
  • Brush chipped and hauled, the ground raked, and the driveway cleared before we pull out.

How we work

From the first ring to the last grind.

Four stages, in order, every time. The sequence is the same whether it is one limb over a driveway or a whole tree above the roofline.

  1. 01

    Free estimate

We walk the property and look at the tree, the lean, the targets and the access. You get a written estimate and a straight answer — no pressure either way.

  2. 02

    Plan and scope

What comes down and in what order, where the wood lands, and whether the crane is needed. If a tree can be kept and treated instead of removed, we will say so.

  3. 03

    The work

Clean cuts and rigged lines, with the brush chipped as we go. Pieces are lowered or flown rather than dropped, and the yard is left tidy each day.

  4. 04

    The last grind

Stumps ground below grade with the grindings cleared. The ground is raked and left ready for grass, mulch or a new tree in the same spot.

Tell us what the tree is doing.

Leaning, dropping limbs, already down, or just overdue for a trim — every job starts with someone standing under the tree looking up. We come out, look at it properly and leave you with a written estimate.

Storm damage moves to the front of the schedule. If something is on the house or across the drive, choose storm damage cleanup on the form and tell us in the notes.
