01 — Departures

Pick the work that fits your hands.

Four kinds of journey, one shared shape: you bring a skill you already have, a host community brings the need, and the days get spent on something real.

02 — The journey

Before, during, and the part that follows you home.

Three stages, one continuous thread. Volunteers and donors both start at the same place: deciding to go.

01 Before
Boots, a folded map and a clipboard on the floor beside a half-packed bag

Choose the project, choose the dates

You pick the work that fits your hands and the weeks that fit your life. We walk you through the preparation, the travel and what the days will actually look like.

02 During
Volunteers mixing concrete and laying blocks on a small building site

Work beside local teams

Days are long, useful and usually dusty. Evenings belong to the people you're with — the crews, the host families, the neighbours who show up to help.

03 After
A worn notebook, pressed leaves and printed photographs spread across a table

Bring something back

Most people come home with something that doesn't fit in a bag: a different sense of what's enough, and a reason to keep showing up long after the flight.

03 — Where it goes

Your gift goes to the work, not the wrapping.

Some people travel with us, and some send help ahead of them. A donation is the most direct way to stand behind a build, a clinic day or a season of conservation work.

  • Project materials and tools, sourced as close to the work as we can.
  • Medical supplies for clinic days led by local practitioners.
  • The host partners and community teams who make a placement real.

04 — Start here

Tell us where you'd fit.

Volunteers and donors begin with the same short form. Say what you'd like to do and what you're good at, and we'll write back from Portland.

Not travelling this year?

You can still push a project forward — donations fund the materials, supplies and local partners behind every journey.
