Burbank, CA — 2D animation studio

Stories that bloom
in motion.

Foxglove Animation grows an idea from first thumbnail to final frame: 2D animation, motion graphics, explainer videos, character work and storyboards — drawn by hand and timed to the frame.

What we make

Five ways to grow
an idea into motion.

One studio from the first thumbnail to the final render — boards, design, animation and delivery, handled by the same small team throughout.

2D animation

Hand-drawn and digital 2D, built frame by frame. Roughs, clean-up, timing and compositing run through the same hands from the first pass to the last.

  • Motion graphics

Type, shape and rhythm arranged into brand films, titles and social cuts — designed as motion first, not as a slide deck with a fade.

  • Explainer videos

A short scripted story that shows how a product, service or process actually works, written to land on the first watch.

  • Character animation

Expressive rigs and real performance: walk cycles, takes, lip sync and the small hesitations that give a character a personality.

  • Storyboarding

The seed stage. Rough panels that lock the beats, the camera and the timing before a single frame is animated.

How we work

From seed to bloom,
one pass at a time.

  1. 01

    Seed

A call and a script. We break the story into beats and sketch them on paper before anything moves.

  2. 02

    Sprout

Those boards cut into an animatic, with style frames, character designs and a palette locked in early so the look never drifts mid-production.

  3. 03

    Bloom

Production. 2D animation, character performance and motion graphics are built frame by frame, with a review at every pass.

  4. 04

    Prune

Notes, timing polish and finishing. You get the master plus the cutdowns and the ratios your channels need.

From the desk

Frames from the
studio floor.

Every project starts as a stack of paper and a wall of boards. The drawings come first; the render comes later.

Inside the studio

Boards on the wall, timing on the timeline — a character gets its performance long before the render.

We work in short, reviewable passes, so you see the story working in pencil before the expensive part begins.
