Boise, Idaho — excavation & site work

We start where the ground stops.

Land clearing, grading, trenching, foundation digging and septic installation. DirtWorks takes a site from raw ground to ready to build.

The approach

The approach

Nothing gets built until the ground is right.

Ground has to be read before it gets moved — what's loose, what's rock, and where the water wants to go. DirtWorks clears it back, cuts it to grade, and digs to the depth the plan calls for.

One contractor from the first cut to the last backfill: clearing and grading, trenching and septic, footing and foundation excavation. The work is sequenced so each stage leaves the next one something solid to build on.

The cut

The cut

Four layers. Four jobs.

A site gets worked from the surface down. This is the order the ground comes apart, and what DirtWorks does at each stage of it.

Land clearing

Brush, stumps, old fence lines and whatever was buried out back come out first. We strip the site back to bare ground so everything after it has something honest to build on.

Coming off

  • Brush and small trees
  • Stumps and root mass
  • Old fence lines
  • Surface rubble and debris
Subgrade

Grading

Cut and fill to the elevations the plan calls for, compacted so the pad holds. Surface water gets sent where it needs to go, away from the building.

Utility depth
03 Utility depth · Trenching & septic

Trenching & septic

Utility runs and septic installation cut through rock-heavy ground. Trench, tank and line go in at the depth the work needs, and the spoil goes back where it came from.

Foundation digging

Footings and foundation excavation down to bearing ground — walls cut square to the plan, corners marked, and the hole clean enough for the crew behind us.

Bidding

Bidding

How a bid comes together.

Every bid starts with the ground, not a number. Three steps, and you'll know what the work involves before you commit to any of it.
