Reno, Nevada · After closing
You don't have to be a mechanic to love a car. You just have to look.
01 — The collection / Bay one
The hall is dark on purpose. A single work lamp is hung over each car — the way it would be in a garage at midnight — close enough to see the paint, the chrome, the stitching, and the small decisions somebody made a long time ago.
Nothing, really. Come in. Stand a while. Look at the thing underneath the shine.
02 — Tours & programs / Bay two
Tours move through the hall at a pace that lets you stop. Educational programs take the same idea out to schools and community groups — the cars as a way into history, design, and how things get built.
A walk through the collection, guided or at your own pace. No route is compulsory.
For schools and community groups, arranged ahead of time. The cars do a lot of the teaching.
The people here like talking about cars. There are no wrong questions, and no rush at the end.
Tell us roughly how many and roughly when. We'll find you a lamp.
03 — Events / The hall after hours
Evening events, private gatherings, and the occasional good reason to stand around talking next to a car with the lamps on. If you'd like to hold something here, ask — this is what the room is for.
Ask about an evening
04 — Membership / Your own set of keys
Membership is our way of saying you can come back whenever you like — and that the lamps will be on when you do. It's the difference between visiting a place and keeping one.
Come in whenever we're open, as often as you like. Bring someone with you.
Members hear about evening events and programs before anyone else does.
Your dues keep the lamps burning after closing, whether you're standing under them or not.
05 — Keep the lights on
Donations pay for the quiet part of a museum — the care, the upkeep, the hours after the last visitor goes home. Give once, or give so the switch stays flipped. Every membership and every gift keeps the hall lit.
