Boise, Idaho · 1-on-1 math tutoring
Margin note Every wrong step stays on the board until it makes sense. Nothing gets erased quietly.
1-on-1 math tutoring where mistakes get circled, not hidden.
solve for x
3x + 7 = 22
3x = 22 + 7 = 29
↑ the 7 moved across the equals sign without flipping. We leave the wrong line up — that is how you actually learn it.
3x = 22 − 7 = 15
x = 5
then check it: 3(5) + 7 = 15 + 7 = 22 ✓ — the step nobody shows you

The work
You bring the messy page. We find the exact step where it went sideways, put the correction next to the mistake, and leave both on the board so you see them twice.
Before fractions make sense, counting has to feel solid. We build number sense out loud — with fingers, ten-frames, and a lot of explaining back to me — and let the speed come later.
Book a number-sense sessionWe don't do the homework for you. We sit with the page until you can do the next one on your own — including the two problems you were quietly planning to skip.
Bring tonight's page
The week the letters show up, a lot of kids quietly decide they're bad at math. The bootcamp is built around that week: variables, signs, and order of operations until the letters stop being scary.
Ask about bootcamp datesTest math rewards the kid who knows which mistakes to expect. We drill the timing, the no-calculator section, and the questions that are designed to look impossible at first glance.
Start test prepHow booking works
The board gets wiped between every session, so here is the whole process chalked in one take — what you send, what you get back, and what to bring to the first one.
Send a note with the grade, the subject, and the page that made no sense last night. Two minutes of typing, no phone call required.
You get back the times that are genuinely free that week, and you choose the one that fits around school pick-up, practice, and dinner.
Bring the homework, the test, the torn-out page. We start with the wrong step, because that's the one worth keeping.

I'd rather a session be uncomfortable and useful than smooth and forgettable. You'll hear me ask "why did that work?" far more often than you'll hear me hand over an answer. Bring the wrong step — it's the most useful thing you can put on the table.
Book
That's not a problem — that's the job.
Send a note and you'll get next week's open times back, so nobody has to play phone tag between school pick-up and dinner. Tell me the grade and the thing that isn't clicking, and I'll bring the chalk.
