The spring certificate

Eight weeks. Two courses. One habit of checking your work.

The certificate runs eight weeks in Portland, Maine. You start with SQL, move into dashboarding, and close with a capstone project review of your own work.

SQL

The work starts with a question. Before a chart can be trusted, someone has to write the query and check the answer.

  1. 01

    Start from the decision

Name what someone has to decide, then write the query that answers it.

  2. 02

    Join, filter, aggregate

The everyday mechanics, practiced on messy tables rather than tidy samples.

  3. 03

    Check before you ship

Reconcile the totals and sanity-check the counts on your own result.

Dashboarding

Dashboarding is where the log becomes a signal — the layout, the filters, and the restraint it takes to show one honest number.

  1. 01

Layout that reads at a glance

Put the answer where the eye lands first, and let the detail follow.

  2. 02

    Filters that earn their place

Every control answers a question, or it comes off the page.

  3. 03

    Definitions agreed up front

One meaning per measure, written down before the build starts.

Corporate team training

Train the whole team on the numbers you already keep.

We run corporate cohorts for teams that need one shared vocabulary for data: SQL and dashboarding taught together, with the same discipline of query, check, and record.

Cohorts are arranged with you, so the training lands alongside the reporting your team already does.

Capstone project reviews

Every entry gets read.

The certificate closes with a capstone project review. You bring the question, the query, and the dashboard; we read the work for the gaps, the assumptions, and the parts that hold.

Capstone reviews are also available on their own, for teams or individuals who want a second reading of work already in progress.

Write it down. Check the instrument. Record the reading.
