Reactive-Dog Workshop

A smaller, quieter room for the dogs who find other dogs and strangers genuinely hard work.

  • Reading your dog’s early signals
  • Creating space and keeping it
  • Calm passing practice
  • A plan for real walks
Enroll in the workshop

Take-home courses

Courses you can do on your own kitchen floor.

Not every dog learns best in a room full of strangers, and not every week has room for a class night. The online leash-skills course brings the same teaching home in short lessons you can use between walks.

Online Leash-Skills Course

Loose-leash walking, from the first step out the front door to a busy sidewalk. Watch a lesson, try it on your next walk, and come back when you are ready for the next one.

  • Short lessons you can finish in one sitting
  • Practice plans built around the walks you already take
  • Revisit any lesson as often as you like

How enrollment works

Nothing fancy and nothing harsh. We set dogs up to succeed, mark the moment they get it right, and send you home with something worth practicing.

  1. Pick your class or course

Puppy kindergarten, basic obedience and the reactive-dog workshop run as group classes in Durham. The leash-skills course and private in-home sessions come to you instead.

  2. Tell us about your dog

Enrollment starts with a short note about your dog — their age, their habits, and what you would like to change. We write back with the next open class date and hold your place.

  3. Come to your first class

Bring your dog, a handful of small treats and a sense of humor. Mats, water and the rest of the setup are already waiting when you arrive.

  4. Keep it going between classes

A few short practice sessions a day is plenty. The gold stars are for you as much as for the dog — progress is a habit, not a trick.

Service-dog preparation

Some dogs have a bigger job in mind.

Service-dog preparation is its own quiet corner of the academy: steadiness, focus in busy places, and the long patient groundwork that public access asks for.

If that is the road you and your dog are on, we would like to hear about it.
