Your ride,
logged.

Blue Heron Bicycle Works is part bike shop, part field journal. We sell bikes, repair them, fit them, service e-bikes, rent them out and ride them with you — and we write down what we learn along the way.

The heron knows the best routes — so do we.

What we do

Six things we do well

Sales, service, and the small adjustments that keep a bike rolling in a town of hills and salt water.

Every job starts the same way: we look at the bike, tell you what we found, and agree on the work before anything comes apart. No surprises on the invoice, and no repairs you did not ask for.

  1. 01

    Bike sales

New and used, chosen for the riding we actually do here. We will talk through your commute, your trail and your knees before we talk about anything else.

  2. 02

    Repairs

From a snapped cable to a full rebuild. We show you what we found before we start, and we tell you when a repair is not worth the money.

  3. 03

    Fitting

Saddle, reach, cleats, posture. A proper fit makes a long ride feel shorter and a short ride feel easy.

  4. 04

    E-bike service

Motor, battery and sensor diagnostics, plus the mechanical side — brakes, tires, drivetrain — that wears out exactly the same way.

  5. 05

    Rentals

Bikes for visiting friends, and longer test rides for the bike you are still thinking about.

  6. 06

    Group rides

Rides out of the shop, on routes we know well. Show up with a bike that works and we will take care of the rest.

From the logbook

Notes from the bench

Short entries from the workstand and the road: what came through the door, what we fixed, and what we would tell you if you asked at the counter.

Trail note

Evenings around the bay

The shop ride rolls out slow and stays together. The route hugs the water, the pace is easy to hold, and somebody always has a story about the hill they did not mean to climb.

Fit note

A fit is a conversation with your body

Saddle height, reach, cleat angle, how your hands rest on the bars — small changes you feel on the first climb. Bring your own bike, or book a fitting on something from the floor.

Bench note

Start with the simple things

Most bikes that come through the door are not broken, they just need attention: cables, bearings, a wheel that has been quietly out of true for months. We diagnose first, then tell you what the bike needs — and what it does not.

— bring it in, we will take a look.

Group rides & rentals

Show up. Ride.

Rides leave from the shop and follow the water and the flat roads out toward the county. The route goes up ahead of each ride, so you know what you are signing up for.

What to bring
A bike that works and a helmet. If yours has been sitting a while, have us look it over first.
