Everything you need is within reach.

Succulents, pottery, soil, and someone to help you plant it — all set out on one long bench.

Terracotta pot half-filled with soil, a trowel and a small succulent on a wooden potting bench
Mid-fill: a pot, a trowel, one very good rosette.
The bench

Pick a pot. Pick a plant. We'll help you match the two.

Three things, in the order they matter: what it goes in, what it grows in, and what goes in it. Walk in with a question and walk out with a pot that's already planted.

01

Pots worth getting dirty

Terracotta in every size we can stack, glazed planters for the ones that stay indoors, and saucers to catch the mess. If it holds soil and drains properly, it earns a place on the bench.

02

Then the dirt

Desert roots want air, drainage and something to hold on to. We keep the mixes that suit what you're planting, plus the grit and top dressing that finish the surface.

  • Potting mix for containersscoop or bag
  • Cactus & succulent blendfast draining
  • Pumice & perliteby the scoop
  • Top-dressing gravela few colors

Bring a bucket, bring a truck bed, or bring nothing but a plan — we'll help you get it home.

03

And something to put in it

Rosettes, barrels, trailing kinds and the odd ridiculous cactus. They like the same sun you do, which is the whole point of planting here.

  • Small rosettes & clusterspot them in pairs
  • Barrel & column cactusthe bold ones
  • Trailing succulentsfor shelves & rims
  • Desert-tough perennialsfor the ground
Workshops at the bench

Come make a mess somewhere other than your kitchen.

Hands-on at the bench, with the pots, plants and soil laid out in front of you. Come on your own, bring a friend, or bring the kids and let them get filthy.

  1. Choose your pot and plant

We'll walk the bench with you and help you match the two — the right pot for the root, the right plant for the light you've actually got.

  2. Plant it up

Soil, tools and gloves are all here. We'll show you how to set it, firm it and finish the top so it looks like it belongs in a magazine.

  3. Take it home, keep it alive

You leave knowing when to water, when not to, and who to ask when it starts looking sorry for itself.

Landscape design

Or we'll plant the whole yard.

Some people come for one pot. Some come with a photo of a bare back yard. We design desert planting that can take Tucson heat, and we put it in the ground ourselves.

  • A planting plan built around your sun, your walls and your water
  • Pots, beds and gravel gardens drawn together, not bought one at a time
  • Plants, soil and mulch from the same bench you're standing at

Visit

Come stand at the bench.

Everything starts here — a pot under one hand, a plant under the other, and somebody beside you who has killed far more succulents than you ever will.
